Unique Luxury Pool Design Ideas

For many homeowners, the addition of a backyard swimming pool is the most expensive home renovation project they will ever undertake.  For this reason, most homeowners want a truly unique design, not a cookie cutter, drag and drop solution.  When working within the constraints of the average backyard and the budget of the homeowner, it can sometimes be a challenge to offer a truly unique backyard swimming pool.  Enter…the experienced professional pool designer.  A good designer will be able to encapsulate the unique qualities of the home within the constraints of the yard while offering unique design configurations, water features and materials to suite the homeowners needs.  A few of our favorite ‘wow factors’ our designers love to include are:

Infinity Pool

The vanishing edge of an infinity pool is typically designed to blend in with the landscape surrounding it. This allows for a smooth transition from the pool to the view beyond it. The tranquil and beautiful appearance is caused by water flowing over one or more of the edges. They can be constructed in a wide range of shapes, ranging from conventional rectangular to freeform designs, and they can incorporate elements such as fountains or waterfalls.

Natural Pool

Rocks, vegetation, and other components of the surrounding environment are included in the design of natural pools to create an effect that is meant to be reminiscent of a natural pond or lake. Instead of using chemicals, the water can be filtered using a combination of plants and bacteria, resulting in an option that is enticing to those looking for earth-friendly and sustainable pools.

Therapy Pool

Therapy pools can also be known as ‘spools’ or oversized spas, but regardless of what they’re called, their signature is their year-round heat.  Known for the ability to soothe and relax sore muscles, heal sports and other injuries, warm water is one of the best therapy options available.  These pools typically don’t require as much space as traditional pools, making them a great fit for small spaces.

Lap Pool

A pool that is more appropriate for swimming laps and other forms of exercise than for recreational use is called a lap pool. Lap pools are often very long and narrow, and they can be constructed in several different forms, such as infinity, natural, or traditional. They can be constructed in various forms, from contemporary geometric designs to more natural shapes. They may contain built-in features such as spa jets or resistance currents to expand the range of available training possibilities.

Lazy River Pool

The gentle bends and constant water flow that characterize a lazy river pool are meant to evoke the impression of a river’s more sedate flow. These pools are excellent for relaxation since they have a stream allowing you to float while you enjoy the surrounding beauty. They can be constructed in a wide variety of forms and sizes, ranging from compact circular designs to larger winding forms, and they frequently include components such as built-in seating or fountains.

Geometric Pool

The sleek and contemporary appearance of a geometric pool is achieved via the use of clean lines and hard angles in the construction of the pool. They can be constructed in a wide range of shapes, ranging from conventional rectangular to more intricate designs. They frequently contain sleek water features and vibrant underwater lighting to increase the aesthetics of the finished product.

‘Underwater Window’ Pools

Acrylic or ‘glass’ walls can be constructed in the pool to offer an incredibly luxurious feel. Glass-walled pools are frequently constructed above grade, which provide swimmers with unrestricted views of the landscape that surrounds the pool. The walls can also act as a spillover and can be constructed in a wide variety of forms and dimensions, ranging from compact plunge pools to expansive estate pools.
